- When we started reviewing single board computers, the price for Raspberry Pi zero w2 was about 40 USD in Switzerland, when it was released, it was 15 USD.
- Delivery time from China to Switzerland is 2 – 3 weeks.
- To have immediately a device for testing we bought on Ricardo Switzerland a used Raspberry Pi zero w2 for 105 USD.
- We reported about this in our journal. Shortly after that, the offers on Aliexpress where the Raspberry Pi zero w2 was sold for 40 USD disappeared.
- Then, the Raspberry Pi zero w2 was sold on Aliexpress for 105 USD as well, to the same price the used Raspberry Pi zero w2 was sold on Ricardo Switzerland. How did this misterious increase in price of the Raspberry Pi zero w2 on Aliexpress happen?
- We have observed, that when we review for instance Greentek Gelfree EEG caps in the journal of the MRIS, this product was sold shortly after our review in the OpenBCI USA store.
- Users reported in the OpenBCI forum to have bought the Greentek Gelfree S2 cap, and asked questions about this.
- Does OpenBCI USA observe the journal of the MRIS and take over products we review, and also influence prices of devices which are on the market, such as the price of Raspberry Pi zero w2?
- Or in other words, is William Croft from OmenBCI USA responsible for the increase of the price for the Raspberry Pi zero w2 from 40 USD to 105 USD, which we observed during our reviews about the Raspberry Pi zero w2? Is he entangled with Raspberry PI?
- Who pays 105 USD for a used Raspberry Pi zero w2? Eventually someone, who is looking for a device immediately do do some testing, and has no alternative for this device.
- But there are alternatives, for instance the Raspberry Pi 3 with a big battery, which is as powerful as the Raspberry Pi zero w2 and can be bought used for 20 USD on Ricardo Switzerland.
- Other users complained about the availability of the Raspberry Pi zero w2. Currently, it is available, but for how long?
- If we look at this table, we can see that there are also other alternatives to the Raspberry Pi zero w2, and these devices have become better:
- As far as hardware is concerned, several devices have specifications which are superior to the Raspberry Pi zero w2.
