„Hi Peter,

I am Nirmal, a ECE student from the University of Toronto. I read your article ” Is OpenBCI Optimized for Low Costs and High Quality?”. The cyton board is more expensive now, it became 4x the price, do you think it a better idea to like to print your board, and I heard is expensive because, the RFduino is discontinued, so makes the product more expensive. Is it a good project to create your board using  some wifi or Bluetooth based communication to make a cheaper version of Cyton? Thank you.“

With Warm Regards,

„OpenBCI boards sold on eBay and Aliexpress are cheaper than those sold from www.openbci.com. But I do not know anyone who proofed that these cheap boards run without issues. I suppose the modules on eBay and Aliexpress are not tested, whereas those sold from www.openbci.com are tested, which make those more expensive. I do not know of anyone who showed that he was able to produce these modules below the costs of that from www.openbci.com. Only Texas Instruments produces multi channel EEG chips, and they are not cloned. Prices remained stable over the last years. So I do not know of a way to make products from www.openbci.com less expensive.
regards
