This reviewer says the Odroid XU4q works as a desktop replacement:
- But it produces a lot of heat and needs another fan.
- But what if we do not want to do his, because a fan draws a lot of power?
This review shows that it is possible to ajust the processor speed with a tool
- is is shown at 4:49 in the video
- This offers an option to slow down the processor for applications where we need long battery life and little head.
- The Odroid XU4 and the OdroidXU4q can be tweaked for users who need a long battery life, but is this a device which is optimized for little power draw?
- The device does reduce speed by itself if it gets too hot, but it is nice to have an option hwo we can do it by ourselves.
- Still it is an interesting alternative to Raspberry Pi, but only as long as sellers do not stock market speculations with the device ans shoot up prices, as it has been done with the LattePanda Delta.
- There also other models of Odroid SBC which have CPUs which draw less power, but we do not know of a community who work with these devices as a daily driver.
