How to connect a foot pod to Home Assistant/InfluxDB?

The same options as discussed for the treadmill speed sensors are available:

Another option is to build an OpenBCI BLE foot pod, which connects the OpenBCI foot pod over the OpenBCI BLE dongle to the OpenBCI GUI. Ask William Croft from OpenBCI for the optimal way to connect the OpenBCI GUI to Home Assistant/InfluxDB.

We had support in the Bitalino forum how to build an open source foot pod. Unfortunately, the Bitalino forum is gone. But if we remember right, a foot pod basically consists of an accelerometer and some algorithms. If that is true, we can connect an accelerometer with an ESP32 module to Home Assistant.

But again, we are physiologists, and not soft- and hardware developers, and let it be for the moment.

According to the information we have, the Stryd distance is available in the Apple Health app, and it should in theory be possible to synchronize it to Home Assistant and export it to InfluxDB.
