Richard Davidson says: “Learning To Be Happy Is No Different Than Learning The Violin” and a daily meditation practice of 20 min is sufficient to change the brain in an objectively measurable way. But is 20 min of daily meditation practice enough to heal a person who suffers from a mental illness? Or are 20 min daily practice enough to become a master of meditation? And is it not as with learning the Violin? A daily practice of 20 min has an effect. But is it enough to to become a good musician, or a master of the Violin?
Masters of yoga and meditation report to have practiced around 13 years as a full time training, and then they practice for another 4 to 5 hours a day for the rest of their lives. And is it not the same for professional musicians, or professionals in every discipline, that they invest most of their time in what they are doing? But can a daily meditation practice of 20 min convince professionals in the field of mental health to be an effective practice?
