HDMI or DSI display for Raspberry Pi & LattePanda, and which one support touch?

  • 98 percent of the available operating systems for the Raspberry Pi support touch according to ETA PRIME:
  • HDMI displays are connected over usb and HDMI and touch is transmitted over usb, but for instance Retropy does not have touch support

We installed Ubuntu Mate according to the above instruction and we did not get any touch. Then we connected the TFT display of our LattePanda over DSI flat cable to a Raspberri Pi 4, according to the following instruction:

  • the cable fits in the Raspberry Pi connector. Take care of the polarity, it can be sticked in on two ways technically
  • unfortunately our TFT display from the LattePanda did not work on the Raspberry Pi 4 as well on the LattePanda and is eventually broken.
  • The Raspberry Pi zero w2 has only a micro HDMI connector, but for instance with Raspberry Pi OS we should have touch support, if the display is connected over usb to the TFT display
