Exciting project based on instructions from Jonathan Savage (fellrnr.com), which is is relatively easy to do:
High quality camera for Kinovea recording:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32901716874.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.6c6d38dafjc6Ou&mp=1
- People use USB 3 Balser cameras which costs up to 350 USD with Kinovea, see in the Kinovea forum.
Kinovea can be controlled from other applications
- While Kinovea is running it is possible to send it commands from a third party application or script. For example this can be used to trigger recording based on a software event.
- The commands use the Windows messaging system and the WM_COPYDATA message:
https://www.kinovea.org/help/en/misc/copydata.html
- It is highly desirable to have a real-time calibration of a treadmill based for instance on this suggestion to have a high precision calibration, which eventually can be connected to Home Assistant to control a treadmill based on this calibration sensor automatically.
