The reason we have not chosen the Emotiv Epoc Flex 1, is because the A/D rate was only 14 or less. Did Emotiv now increase the A/D rate in the Emotiv 2 to 16 A/D? Research grade applications require 16 bit A/D or higher. But the information from Emotiv we found about this topic is a bit scattered everywhere:
- Emotiv previously recommended not use Bluetooth connection for the Epoc 32, but an usb connection to a laptop.
- cable connection is not recommended by electronic engineers. They warn from electric shock with cable connection.
- but this problem can be used by connecting the EEG device only to battery powered devices
16-bit channel data, uncompressed, granular EEG data:
- The best just got even better. EMOTIV FLEX 2.0 is the most versatile, high-density wireless saline or gel EEG head cap system available. E- quipped with the latest Bluetooth® 5.2 chip
- Uncompromised 16-bit granular channel data (whatever that means)
- somewhere in the web, we have read that some devices of Emotiv have 16 bit A/D resolution, but only 14 bit can be used

struggle since years to find a 32 channel EEG headset with at least 16 bit (research grade) resolution for a reasonable price. The information we found about the Emotiv Epoc Flex 2 is a bit confusing. It is highly desirable that this information is confirmed by an indendent tester or reviewer.
