- By Acharya Pema Wangyal, one day seminar:
Sunday, November 13, 2022, 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m
- at the Tibet-Institut Rikon
- The mind training was brought to Tibet by the Indian master Atisha (11th century) and is practiced in all main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. In Tibet, the “Seven Points Mind Training” was further developed by the Master Chekhawa (12th century) and the Kagyu Master Jamgon Kongtrul Lodrö who wrote a commentary on it. Lojong is characterized by simplicity and practical relevance to everyday life. By training the mind, the negative emotions can be transformed into positive emotions and we can find our inner peace again.
Language: German
Fee: Fr. 90.-
Remarks: Please bring a light lunch, hot water and tea/coffee are available.
- In Lojong, the Seven Points of Mind Training, we have to practice one verse less:

- than with Training the Mind as taught by the Dalai Lama 14., which has eight verses:
https://www.dalailama.com/teachings/training-the-mind
- Still, it is not clear, whether is more efficiently to train our brains by training verses or by training Shamatha Meditation, and whether it is necessary to analyze all the eight stages of Shamatha meditation as taught at the Tibet-Institut Rikon by brain scanning experiments.
- We are still looking for a secular teaching for our investigations that will be accepted by everyone.
- A Mind Training which is based on scientific findings similar to the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn or Zindel Segal should be generally accepted.
