The LibreOffice documentation shows: Customizing LibreOffice Getting Started Guide:
- LibreOffice is very costumizable, which is great, and I suppose it can be controlled almost completely with shortcuts.
- But I think a keyboard with as much keys as possible would be very helpful to control LibreOffice.
alaraajavamma wrote in the Pin64 forum about LibreOffice:
- «At least few months ago Libreoffice worked better with Flatpak version (vs. the apk version).
- If I remember correctly there were some issues with Menus when using apk version.
- Personally I think Libreoffice is bit too “heavy” app for Pinephone so I am using Abiword and Gnumeric.«

Peter Gamma:
- «In the current version which is available in the postmarketOS software store the issues with the menues are gone».
Alaraajavamma:
- «Libreoffice is perfect “proof of concept app” for Pinephone.
- Everything works (kind of) but it is not usable on phone screen and when using external display it is quite laggish.
- You can say it is daily driver ready but you don’t want to daily drive it »

Peter Gamma:
- «I had issues with Abiword when I wrote Abiword files onto the SD card of the phone and edited those then on a SD card reader with an Ubuntu PC with Abiword.
- When I came back with those files to the Pinephone the whole screen was full of question marks.
- I had the same problem when choosing the .rtf as a file format.

- I did not further tests with Abiword to find out how to get it to work on the Pinephone and Ubuntu.
- Who wants to find out about issues of Abiword, an application for which development has stopped basically 10 years ago? I can find the issues and report those to the developer, but where has he gone?”

LibreOffice is very costumizable which is great. It might be heavy but I think it is worth testing to find out if it is possible to make it run better on the Pinephone with the small screen. LibreOffice continues to be developed, but where are the developers for Abiword? And do whe have an alternative to LibreOffice on the Pinephone at all?
