The Dalai Lama the 14. asked Richard to test Tibetan Buddhist meditation practices with the tools or modern neuroscience, and if he finds that they are effective, to spread them widely?
But which meditation practices should be tested. In Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, PhD. there are about 20 000 exercices. Which one of those should be tested by the Kundalini Reserach Institute to be effective?
And which meditation practices should be tested of the Tibetan meditation practices, from which school of Tibetan Buddhism? Are there also 20 000 practices?
Tirumalai Krishnamacharya made out of ancient yoga practices secular yoga practices. Krishnamacharya had only 4 major students, Jois, Iyengar, Devi, and Krishnamacharya’s son, T.K.V. Desikachar. These four students founded their own schools and spread their teachings widely, without scientific proof of their effectiveness.
Yogi Bhajan taught Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a secular practice which can be practiced by Sikhs, Hindus, Christians, and believers or non believers of other religions.
Yogi Bhajan founded his own Kundalini Research Institute:
https://kundaliniresearchinstitute.org/
And his own religion, the Sikh Dharma International:
Yogi Bhajan was a Sikh who founded the Sikh Dharma International. Yogi Bhajan was born in August 1929 in , Gujranwala, Pakistan and died on 6. Oktober 2004, Española, New Mexico, Vereinigte Staaten.
Yogi Bhajan was not a Christian, but a Sikh who founded the Sikh Dharma International. He therefore did not use the christian Calendar with a. Chr. n. and p. Chr. N on his tombstone. He used his own timing on this tombstone: born at zero, died at one.
If we look at the secularization of yoga and meditation practices, we ask ourselves: does it make it any sense, if every yoga and meditation scientist chooses his on way and his own method?
