  • But also testing such as setup is time consuming.
  • We even went back to a usb connection a PC and drag and drop.
  • And also to use Google Drive as a work around
  • But using NextCloudPi until it works feels just like debugging something.
  • We did not find any bugs in it.
  • The only bug we found is the lack of a established instruction for what we do.
  • Also the installation of scrpi takes time until it works.
  • It worked on one case to this date.
  • One Xioami Poco F1 did not work.
  • The next Xioma Poco F1 showed only the screen with scrpi on the PC
  • But nothing else could be done.
  • Then we wanted to test the Fairpone 3, but it seems to be dead since we haven’t used this device fo a long period of time.
  • It was a Fairphone on which wanted to install Ubuntu Touch but get stuck
  • A Xiaomi Redmi 7 which once worked did not work anmyore wit scrpy (sreencopy)
  • Finally scrpy (sreencopy) works with one Pocophone F1, the screen if visible on my PC, keyboard and mouse work, connected over usb.
  • The advantage of scrpy (sreencopy) is for me personally that it gives the impression to be relatively a simple solution, no web login in or contract with Google Inc. which must be signed first, which then is not stable and works only in the paid pro version.
  • I made negative experiences with Android remote desktops on PCs.
  • I did not find a satisfying Android app to this date which can to what scrpy (sreencopy) can do.

Google Pixel 3 with Ubuntu Touch

  • As a privacy phone
  • Altough we believe that the Ubuntu Touch installation was done be Google Inc., our trust in it as a a privacy phone incrases.
  • The SIM card can be removed to not to be tracked by the governement.
  • We do not need to buy a Pinephone for this.
  • Four year ago privacy phone expert Rob Braxman recommended the Google Nexus 5 with Ubuntu Touch as the best privacy phone which is available for everyone.
  • We suppose therefore to use Google phones without Google software is not very risky.
  • We do not want complete security.
  • But a phone which is a secure as possible with little effort which does not cost 1000 of dollars.

  • evaluating the Raspberry Pi zero 2 w is not as frustrating as evaluating Linux phones.
