to join sensor data from multiple sensors in a single InfluxDB:
1. Polar OH1
– Polar Sensor Logger app with MQTT support is available (Jukka Happonen, Senior Specialist at Polar Electro Oy Research Center):
– Polar SDK available
– alternative: Polar Sensor Logger app can record to .csv
2. Peter H. Charlton PhD Respiratory Rate Estimation Toolbox for Matlab
A real-time device, eventually Matlab code running in Octave on a PinePhone with InfluxDB and Grafana would be highly desirable
3. The Muse headbands
– Alexandre Barachant LSL (Rasperri PI) available
– Mind Monitor Python OSC available (James Clutterbuck)
– alternative: Mind Monitor can record to .csv
4. OpenBCI boards
– OpenBCI software supports LSL
– OpenBCI WIFI shield (issues: packet loss and cycling noise spiking, currently unavailable, comeback unkown, available only on Aliexpress) has support for MQTT
– alternative: How to get access to CSV file of data from OpenBCI?
https://openbci.com/forum/index.php?p=/discussion/2624/how-to-get-access-to-csv-file-of-data
5. 32 channel EEG board Ads1299 EMG EEG Acquisition Module (Aliexpress)
-Keil software development environment for Arm Cortex-M based microcontroller devices
– Alternative: 32 channel EEG is EPOC Flex with Emotiv Pro software and LSL
6. The Stryd Foot Pod or another ANT+ or BLE foot pod (walking meditation with a Stryd and an MQTT stream to a Rasperri PI with InfluxDB and Grafana, when will this product be released?)
1. There is a Pyloton BLE bike computer available from Adafruit (John Park, etc.) which supports heart rate, speed and cadence sensors. It can be modified to support also foot pods.
2. IpBike ANT+/BLE app (Ifor Powell) connected to Livetracking.io (Nils Knieling) with InfluxDB Grafana was available and is off-line now, can to be reestablished
3. Rasperri PI ANT+ with MQTT (Reto Rölli, https://infinityflow.ch/blog/ legally protected)
4. ANT+ SDK available (licence agreement required)
5. Alternative: a training tracker app from Dr Ing. Rainer Blind (formerly University of Stuttgart) on his GITHUB records sensor data to .csv
7. Adafruit CLUE chip
– for environmental temperature, body temperature, light, sound, humidity, etc.
– Mingyur Rinpoche reported that in the lab of Richard Davidson where he did experiments with long-term Buddhist monk practitioners, it was «dark, cold and very noisy». These parameters have an influence on physiology and needs to be determined.
– housing needs to be optimized to accurately measure body temperature
– Adafruit project Liz Clark available which implements steps
– excellent software support
– very accurate (+- 0.2 degree)
– affordable
8. Many more sensors described in this blog
Developers wanted who develop a multi-sensor InfluxDB (for fun and in it’ s spare time?). Many resources can be found on this blog. Until such a solution is there, me personally I will use Android Apps with .csv support etc., but no live-stream or InfluxDB, but a standard database software for sensor data analysis.
11.3.22 20:36
There is already a Rasperri PI project with InfluxDB and Grafana for a weather station available:
A Rasperri PI project with physiological sensors would be highly desirable.
15.3.22
Issue with some sensor manufacturers: Some of them offer high-quality physiological sensors, but do not allow users to access the sensor data the way they want to, but force them to use their proprietary software. An MQTT interface software as a standard for sensors would be very helpful. It would increase the range of applications and increase sales.
