  • The – Raspberry Pi 3 A+ is power efficient, but not very powerful and was tested by Explaining Computers, as well as other Raspberry Pis.
  • all Raspberry Pi boards require a 5 volts power supply
  • We tested before a Raspberry Pi4 with Ubuntu Mate with a power bank we bought on Aliexpress for 20 USD which has 10 000 mAh capacity.
  • Running time idling was about 4 hours
  • Explaining computers did a similar tests as we did and reached a battery life of 15 hrs with a 10 000 mAh power bank.
  • The Raspberry Pi 3A+ had a battery life of 27.7 hrs in the same setup tested by explaining computers.

Tests with Lead Acid powered batteries

battery used:

Yuasa NP7 12FR 12v 7.0 Ah

  • charging time was 12 hours
  • additionally we need a Power buck converter 12 V to 5 V 5 A to convert the 12 volts to 5 volts for Raspberry Pis

running times tested by Explaining computers with lead acid battery

  • 40 hours with led acid battery for Raspberry Pi 4
  • 72 hours with the Raspberry Pi 3 A+
