Cyton 3 lead ECG – currently the most interesting low-cost high-qality heart rate monitor for physiologists who want to be taken serious?

The Cyton 3 lead ECG:

a device which meets the requirements for gold standard for heart rate measurements:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2720055/

These devices do not meet these requirements:

  • the Garmin Forunner 235
  • the Polar H10
  • the Polar OH1
  • the Verity Sense
  • the Apple watches 1 to Ultra
  • the BITalino Biomedical HeartBIT single lead ECG
  • Scott Hardens Sound Card ECG
  • the AD8232 ECG chip
  • the iWorx ROAM
  • Peter Chartons Matlab PPG peak detector
  • Rob ter Horsts 100 smartwatches
  • The PPG heart rate monitor of the Muse headband which can be visualized and analysed in the Mind Monitor app.

We studied all of these devices previously in our journal. For physiologists interested in a low-cost high-quality gold standard device for heart rate mesurements, is it not a waist of time to study the above devices? Is it not better to study the Cyton 3 lead ECG instead? And do not many other people waist their time in studying the above devices?
