CORE Temperature sensor cannot be used as an environmental temperature sensor

  • We asked the CORE support. Here the answer:

«CORE is intended for body temperature measurements, therefore it will not function properly when not in contact with the skin – meaning it will not be accurate if being held remote from the body.»

  • This is hard to believe. Why should this not work? The CORE is not a super high-tech temperature sensor especially designed as a skin contact sensor.
  • A Garmin watch for instance can recognize two HRMs, but can only pair to one sensor at a time
  • the Android app a training tracker can record multiple sensors at a time, which would eventually work with two CORE temperature sensors.
  • Garmin has the TEMPE sensor, which is terribly inaccurate
  • According to information which was deleted from the Garmin Forum by a Garmin Forum supporter (info about it can be found on this site), the TEMPE needs GPS to be turned on to be calibrated.
