- OpenBCI is currently hiring three people, but makes no effort to repair the WIFI shield.
- There is code available for the WIFI shield for an MQTT interface for OpenBCI.
- MQTT interfaces are rare and precious, and allow devices to connect to modern software like Home Assistant, which is currently the second most active Python software.
- Several OpenBCI board could be streamed into InfluxDB to develop revolutionary devices which costs less, but the architecture of OpenBCI need a change for this
- For such a change, an MQTT interface, and a community of developers is necessary
- OpenBCI hinders this development and the community
- OpenBCI has the money to hire 3 people, but doesn’t fix this problem. Every company wo is interested in selling products would fix that immediately, but not openBCI.
- Openbci even hinders other community members who want to adopt the WIFI shield and solve the problem by not releasing the Gerber files that have already been released before, and are not published anymore now.
- The communication of OpenBCI regarding this topic is not convincing
- We feel cheated by the communitcation of OpenBCI
- The procedure of OpenBCI harms other community members, and the reason to do this is not clear.
- OpenBCI advertises as high-quality, low-cost, modular EEG hardware with a global open source community, but OpenBCI hinders the open source community and looses its members.
