The OpenBCI documentation shows an instruction for a 3 lead ECG device. 3 lead ECG is gold standard for HR measurement according to cardiologists. The documentation shows, that 3 ECG electrodes are connected to 3 separate channels and are shown in 3 separate graphs in OpenBCI GUI. We made a comparison table for 3 different 3 lead ECG devices:
Hardware | Store | Hardware costs in USD | Software | Store | Software costs in USD |
iWorx TA 220 | used on ebay | 1400 | iWorx ECG toolbox | iWorx | 1000 |
Cyton OpenBCI 8 channels | OpenBCI USA | 999 | OpenBCI GUI, HeartPy | – | 0 |
3 x AD8232 ECG modules | Aliexpress | 12 | OpenBCI GUI, HeartPy | – | 0 |
- We suppose that the OpenBCI developers were pissed off about high costs for soft- and hardware for EEG and ECG devices and created OpenBCI.
- We suppose that Bitalino was pissed off about about the high costs for soft- and hardware for ECG and EEG devices and created Bitalino.
- We are pissed off about high costs for soft- and hardware for ECG, EEG, etc. and created our journal.
- We wait for the next one who is pissed off about high costs for ECG and EEG devices, and develops more affordable devices, an we will buy from him.
