- OpenBCI is free from noise in the EEG signal since about 10 years.
- One speciality of OpenBCI is the PIC32MX250F128B microcontroller which uses only little power and seems not to cause issues with noise in the EEG signal.
- The ADS1299 chip which is used in OpenBCI cyton can also be controlled by an external clock.
- This would allow to sample all the channels at exactly the same time even on different ADS1299 chips located on different OpenBCI Cyton modules.
- We addionally would need a direct data bridge between the different OpenBCI Cyton modules.
- Then we could synchronize different ADS1299 chips on different OpenBCI Cyton modules.
- We could modify the firmware of OpenBCI and write new code for the PIC32MX250F128B microcontroller to get as much channel as required and read that data into one database.
OpenBCI modules are now available directy from China and sold on eBay and Aliexpress. And we would not be suprised if OpenBCI with a cable bridge between Cyton modules is available soon from Chinese developers who seem to read www.petergamma.org, too. But we expect that the cable bridge Cyton module will be available only as one demo product. So it is eventually better that we solder the bridge between the Cyton modules manually by ourselves.
