Here we can see a getting started guide with the ADS1298ECGFE-PDK which is for ECG and EEG. The ADS1298ECGFE-PDK was introduced on 17.08.2011 by Texas Instruments in this video as a new device in the section for medical devices.
We suppose this kit is almost identical to the ADS1299EEGFE-PDK. It has a 6 volt power adapter, but it can also be battery powered by a 6 volt battery pack. It connects to a Windows PC. This is a smilar setup than the Emotiv Epoc Flex 32 which has also a wired connection to PC and works without EEG noise. The ADS1299 PDK software runs on Windows 10:
The kit is supported by Texas Instruments. The Texas Instruments forum is only rarely used for the ADS1299EEGFE-PDK kit. But there are questions there for the kit since 10 years in forum. And there is a software interface to Matlab. But we don t know if the Matlab interface also allows to write to the board or only reading. We think it is one of the easiest and most affordable solution to build an EEG device. There are papers which show how to build up EEG devices up to 32 channels with this kit. You can find the links to the papers on www.petergamma.org.
The board is available at DigiKey Switzerland with a stock of 46 pieces for Fr. 207.76 a piece :

This is a much better situation than with PiEEG on Elecrow:

The stock at Elecrow is only one piece for PiEEG, and then it is unavailable again. PiEEG was available again upon request. We haven t tested PiEEG yet. And PiEEG first as to proof that it is really worth the 350 USD.
