With the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W we have a demo that the discussed components work with Raspberri Pi OS, with the demo of the off-road mini PC running Debian we do not have a demo which proofs that these peripherals work with the device.
The Raspberry Pi Zero 2W has only one usb2 connector. In this demo, an additionial usb hub was added.
There are also usb2 shield available for device incl. housing on Aliexpress which is great:
If these kind of special components and housing are developed for the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, is this not a proof that this device is interesting for developers?
But the question arrises if it is wise to use these peripherals with this low power single board computer
Is it not better to use as little peripherals as possible it you need long battery life as we need it?
For the Raxda Zero, although it attracted before our attention because of the better specifications, we miss demos for such peripherals.
This demo shows that it is possible to add a usb keyboard and then most probably also a mouse, and mouse and keyboard are working.
But is it not the easiest solution to have your data on a storage card, use the device for mobile data acquisition, pull out the storage card from the device, stick it into your desktop PC and do any further data processing there?
Do you want to use a device which is that small as a desktop PC for your daily work?
This demo shows that the features we are looking for with the Raspberry Pi zero w 2 are working. Before this demo, we did not know about thiswith this device, and ist is nice to have a demo of someone who tests exactly what we are interested in.
