Keep Calm, Microsoft Azure & Keep Calm Adafruit IO?

Sinces several years we suffered from not being able to get a real-time stream from sensor data from sports sensors. Now, there are tools available from Microsoft and Adafruit which is great.

Keep Calm, Microsoft Azure?

  • Dave Does Demo who works for Microsoft UK with his Fenix 5, the EventHubApp, Microsoft Azure Cloud and Microsoft Power BI was one of the pioneers which was able to solve this problem and developed a real-time stream from a Garmin watch to Microsoft Power BI:

Keep Calm, Adafruit IO?

  • A second project was the Pyloton Open Source bike computer from Adafruit which helped us to solve this problem as well:

Microsoft and Adafruit where one of the first who offered a solution for a problem whe had since years, and we are very happy about those solutions. But after we studied the topic if sport heart rate monitors can be used for physiology intensively, we do not know if these sensors are the right choice for our application, and if it is not better to only choose ECG heart rate monitors, such as 3 channel ECG which is gold standard as far as accuracy is concerned for our projects.
