- There is no official image for Armbian on the Radxa Zero yet:
https://wiki.radxa.com/Zero/downloads
- But Armbian can be downloaded from www.armbian.com :
- and has a forum for the Radxa Zero at www.armbian.com :
https://forum.armbian.com/forum/113-radxa-zero/
- We now only from Radxa Zero demos which show Android OS or games, and we do not have a Radxa Zero device yet to test it.
- Armbian on the Radxa Zero, do we not expect that Armbian runs similarly on the Radxa Zero as on the Orange P5, which has similar specifications?
- Example runs from SD card
- Remote desktop support from Windows
- LibreOffice preinstalled
- no GPU graphics processor unit support yet
- no hardware accelerated graphics
- Armbian on the Orange P5 has no app store, but the discover store can be installed and also snap store
- very old kernel, but it is the only one rockchip has made available
- this Orange demo runs with 1.8 Ghz 4 GB Ram which is the same as Radxa Zero models offer
- GPU support is basic, web browsing is quick
- video playback is basic, a lot of framedrops
- surprise that something so good is released so early and usable
- best Linux experience on an Orange Pi 5 so far
- really good stable Linux Operating System
- But is this Armbian on the Orange Pi 5 also an emulation, as in this example:
- and if so, how it is about connecting peripherals, keyboard, mouse, printers and network adapters? It looks good, but it is also good under the hood?
