I personally prefer the leepspvideo KDE plasma built 4 desktop for the Raspberry Pi 4:
leepspsvideo knows all the Pi’s and integrated a lot of specialized Pi software into it. And now leepspvideo already released part 3 of his Linux setup with the KDE Plasma dektop for the Raspberry Pi 5:
And also Ubuntu 24.04 runs on the Raspberry Pi 5. But the advantage of the above deskops is that they are based on Raspberry Pi OS which has been developed over the last 10 years:

If you choose Ubuntu 24.04 on a Raspberry Pi 5 you do not have the software which is specialized for the Pi’s, as explained in this video:
