- We will not review the LattePanda 3 Delta 864
- it is basically a successor model of the LattePanda Delta. We did not know it, so we publish the information here
- We miss many infromation in the documentation of LattePanda which we write here.
- Is the documentation of LattePandas incomplete?
- To buy directly from foreign countries to Switzerland is most often not worth it for instance for device with high shipping costs, import taxes and devices which have a warranty.
- But the LattePanda Delta is no longer available at Digitec Switzerland, and the successsor model LattePanda 3 Delta eigher.
- It is for us personally it is not worth it to buy the device directly from Dfrobot, only through a a re-seller like Digitec Switzerland.
- But the LattePanda V1 has issues with Linux. We described those in our journal.
- Next to the LattePanda V1 there is only the LattePanda Alpha available at Digitec, which is overpowered and too expensive for our needs.
- Devices with Windows enterprise licence costs 100 USD more and than devices without licence at DFRobot. Is it worth it to buy a device with Windows licence? Is it not better do buy a device without licence and put Linux on it, but we currently cannot find an option for this which is straightforward and interesting for us personally.
- There is an installation instruction available to install Ubuntu for instance on the LattePanda 3 delta:
https://docs.lattepanda.com/content/3rd_delta_edition/os/
- But we do not know of any users who report that it works.
- The installation of Ubuntu on the LattePanda V1 is difficult:
- Availability of the the LattePanda Delta models in Switzerland seems to be unsecure, previously the LattePanda Delta was available at Digitec Switzerland, but Digitec informed us that it is no longer available at Digitec.
- We ask Digitec to take up the LattePanda 3 Delta into their shop, but Digitec did not do this. Digitec only removed the LattePanda Delta from their shop after our request.
