We have also discussed with DC Rainmaker on his blog. We do not remember exactly where it was. But we remember each word DC Rainmaker said.
- “Science Sucks” was one of his statements.
- We have also discussed with DC Rainmaker about sports sensor validation studies. We especially discussed about two papers from Dr. Desai. These where the following two papers:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28709155/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6732081/
- These two papers of Dr. Desais group show tests and a ranking of sports sensors compared to a clinical grade ECG device. Both papers show a list with accuracy values and a ranking. For whom is this not interesting? For DC Rainmaker.
- We discussed with him about these papers. His answer was, that they are not from real-life scenarios. He criticized especially one paper of Dr. Desais group, where they made tests on a treadmill. DC Rainmaker criticized this paper to be only treadmill test. But it was a treadmill test of the group of the cardiologist Dr. Milind Desai from Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Are tests from cardiologists not from the real-life? There must be a reason why this group made highly controlled tests on a treadmill.
- at another occasion we where discussing with DC Rainmaker about the Verity Sense firmware update. But suddenly, DC Rainmaker stopped the discussion with the words “I’m tired of having to refute your claims”. You can read here where it was:
https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2021/02/polar-verity-sense-optical-hr-sensor-band-in-depth-review.html
We stopped there the discussion with DC Rainmaker. If DC Rainmaker is tired of having to refute your claims, he does not have to do this. But DC Rainmaker cannot convince us of his objectivity and his his credibility. Especially if he does not support scientific validation studies with numerical and statistical data, in which we can verify his statements, DC Rainmaker seems to be against such scientific studies.
