I have a lot of evidence that the following comedy of Mullvad VPN is inspired by an investigation by a work program of the city police of Zurich which is currently happening:
Since around one year I use Mullvad VPN to protect my privacy. I ordered Mullvad VPN with cash send to Sweden in an envelope. And in the envelope there was only a code which I recieved from Mullvad on my Linux PC. But in the envelope was no information about my name, my location or my identity.
I gave absolutely no information to Mullvad in Sweden about my person, where I live or what I do.
To test the effectivness of Mullvad, I started to use Mullvad VPN with location Brussels. I saw that this works. Since as a concequence, commercials from Belgium where shown in the YouTube videos I was watching. But how suprised whas I, when I discovered that cars from the the Netherlands where standing near my house. The Netherlands is not far from Brussels. This gave me quiet a shock.
So I changed my location to Poland in my Mullvad VPN app. But it took not too much time, until the first cars from Poland where standing near my house. One car driver from Poland asked me where he could get a ticket to park his car. I did not answer to this guy from Poland. Since did someone want to make a fool out of me?
I changed my location again from Poland to a new locations about two month ago. But yesterday cars from Poland where still standing near my house in the City of Zurich
Then I changed my location from Poland to Australia in my Mullvad VPN App. But it took not too much time, until I discovered the first cars from Australia standing near my house.
I found a total of two cars from Australia after I used Mullvad VPN for one month with Australia as my location in the Mullvad VPN app.
Starting from the 1. October 2026 I have chosen Canada als my location in Mullvad VPN. And I was looking for cars near my place from Canada. But I did not find a single one for mone month. But what did I discorver yesterday when I was watching a review about the Fairphone 6?
A reviewer on YouTube who was presenting the Fairphone 6 wore a head cap which was labeled «Toronto Film Festial».
This review was released about one month ago on YouTube. This was exaclty at the time when I have chosen Canada as my location in Mullvad VPN App.
When I had chosen Canda in the Mullvad VPN app, the city in the app changed on a daily basis to another city in Canada. One city which was shown there was Toronto.
So my location was found again by the investigators of the work programs of the City Police of Zurich, although I was using the Mullvad VPN app to hide my location?
A clear reason again to change my location in Mullvad VPN app, to do further experiments about the effectiveness of Mullvad VPN. But after these test results of four month being found by the investigators in the City of Zürich, when I have chosen, Brussels, Poland, Australia and Canda as my location when I was using Mullvad VPN, my trust in Mullvad VPN is completely gone.
