If wee look at our sensor devices, we see that they are very complicated. If we focus on one device, for instance OpenBCI, then we miss the other parts. Furthermore, we did not test these devices, we only reviewed those. And although we reviewed the setup for several years, it causes constant anger.
We also asked ourselves, why aren t there any consumer grade devices which are based on OpenBCI? OpenBCI Galea is a device which is on the market, but can we call this device a consumer grade device? We don’t think it will ever be available in supermarkets in the current configuration for the current price. This is probably because OpenBCI developer Russomanno does not have this goal.
We also think that Adrian Spiess devices do not have a large community which is capable of building those, and use those daily. And we do not think, that the devices of Adrian Spiess will be available in the supermarket, soon. For our setup which is not easy, we would need an Adrian Spiess, who tests it and supports it. But we don t have an Adrian Spiess. There are different sports sensor and EEG apps, which we miss, if we use only OpenBCI.
Our setup is not easy. It becomes only easier, if it is a lifetime journey, and components which are not easy are thrown out.
