How can we get an issue free WIFI shield without packet loss and noise spiking?

• The problem can be solved with a hardware modification.

• This modification is described in the OpenBCI documentation, in issues on the GITHUB of the WIFI shield

• We gathered the information we can found to this topic in our journal.

• We made good experiences with the SOUND GOOD STORE on Aliexpress with communication.

• There was a dangerous setup shown which showed an OpenBCI cable version connected to a Laptap.

• This is dangerous, if the laptop is connected to power source.

• We talked to the Wonders Store, and he updated the documentation of the OpenBCI cable versions.

There is a denoised and power improved version of the WIFI shield available. Unfortunately, we do not have a demo yet for this WIFI shield. But we suppose, that the denoised and power improved version was developed by someone who has read the OpenBCI documentation, and developed a version of the WIFI shield which works and has no issues.

To all Aliexpress OpenBCI WIFI shield sellers: please document the WIFI shield as good as possible, so that we can find the WIFI shield, which as no issues, and that we can publish a demo about it.

It is highly desirable, that no old WIFI shields are developed anymore, It is highly desirable, that only WIFI shields are sold which are WIFI free. Selling WIFI shields with issues harms the OpenBCI community.

For instance in the Wonders store, one WIFI shield is labeled “OpenBCI official version”. We suppose that this is the old WIFI shield with issues.
