ESP32 super smart, the future of sports watches?

  • charging: user friendly over usb-c , not by a cable of Garmin witch pisses us off daily, since the new Garmin cable is developed in a way that it often trops off watches, if the cable is not new, and we have to replace the expensive cable. User friendly inexpensive USB-c cables are much better. Here is where the ESP32 super smart watch already has won over Garmin watches
  • charging light which switches off when the ESP32 super smart watch is charged, a feature which Garmin watches do not have.

What is the difference between a Garmin watch and an ESP32 super smart watch? Garmin watches are controlled by Garmin and allow many to synchronize to Garmin Connect, which looks similar to Home Assistant. But user are not allowed to access data freely in Garmin Connect.

The ESP32 super smart watch can be easily connected to Home Assistant. Home Assistant is the second most active Python applications which is very alive. Home Assistant can be downloaded freely and modified.

Garmin watches have a lot more features tough, but we prefer to have an open source sports watch which can be controlled by the user over a Garmin watch which is controlled by Garmin which offers us fancy graphical animations.
