How to build a medical and research grade ECG, PPG, EEG, etc. device for heart rate, respiration rate etc. yourself

– Take the Scott Harden Sound Card ECG:

– replace the sound card by a 16 bit or higher A/D converter

– connect it to an ESP 32 according to this instruction:

– We are experienced reviewers, and suggest you to do so, since we tried to build such a device, and failed since 780 posts.

– connect the ESP 32 to Home Assistant according to the following instruction:

– make a demo how to store sensor data in InfluxDB and visualize it in Grafana according to Udo Berndts demo:

– make a demo with HeartPy

– make a 3 lead ECG device out of it to make it a gold standard for HR measurement out of it, if you want a device which is also accepted by cardiologists and high quality papers

– write a validation paper, compare the device to a BIOPAC device, and publish it in Nature or Science

– write papers for respiration rate with it and use Peter H. Charltons Matlab toolbox or Talha Iqbals Python demos

– if you succeed, don t apply for a research grant at someone who wants to sell the device and want to make money out of it. The device will be outdated soon.

– don t try to sell it yourself, either, for the same reason

– add more sensors for PPG, EEG etc. for your needs, and repeat the described procedure

– the instruction is especially suitable for students. Since to get a research grant for it is difficult. And to build such devices and sell it as well
