The development of the market for EEG devices and EEG products from Asia

According to our own little experience, there is one ore more manufacturer of EEG devices in Asia, which can at a press of a button develop every EEG device we wish to have. Everything is available, costs can be adapted according to how big the market is, and it seems that there is someone there to find out how much money we are ready to spend for EEG devices.

We repeat: The Meditation Research Institute Switzerland (MSI) is a private project, we do not have a research grant, and we do not have a lot of money. Don t invest too much in development, it is very difficult to make money out of EEG devices.

One big problem are high costs for EEG ADS 1299 chips. These chips are expensive and have remained as far as we know expensive over the last years. Unfortunately, we do not have an affordable chip for EEG devices as for instance the AD 8232 for ECG devices. Scott W. Harden developed a great device ECG device with the AD 8232:

Analog devices announced the AD 8232 in 2012, but it is difficult to handle because of it s small size. In the last couple of years, different companies have made break out boards to make it easier to handle. In recent years, these break out boards have become extremely inexpensive and easy to obtain. These have let to many developments, and a lot of new ECG projects appeared on the market.

Scott W Harden developed an ECG device which he developed on his YouTube channel, which has become very popular.

We are happy about how much ECG devices and projects are on the market now. It is completely different with EEG devices. Costs remain high, and we observed little development in this field, which is a pity.
