We doubted about any practical applications for a 12 ecg device for sporting activities. But we found those presented by Dr. Evan Matthews:

The Swiss Federal Institute of Sports in Magglingen published a paper where they compared the Polar H10 chest to a 3 lead ECG device, and found, that the Polar H10 is a gold standard device for activities with strong body movements.

But the examples of Dr. Evans Matthews show, that ECG devices with up to 12 leads can be used successfully on a treadmill to do scientific tests. And the tests of Dr. Desais group showed, that his 3 lead ECG device is more accurate than a Polar H7 chest strap on a treadmill.
