- Some years ago, Google which bought Android destroyed the possibility to write to the external SD card and access is over USB from a PC.
- We are currently evaluating how to solve this problem. We can buy a Google Pixel 3a phone, where Techut flashes UBports on it:
- and flash PostmarkedOS on it.
- Then, we have Google Pixel 3a phone, which is still worth to buy in 2023:
- Then, we should be able to write to the external SD card again, and access the phone from a Linux PC over a router from a Linux PC.
- Google destroyed options which where attractive for us personally.
- We could solve the problem temporarily with a Google Cast HDMI stick to connect our phone to a HDMI monitor, and a Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse, which was a very unsatisfying solution.
- Now, we can test the described procedure to see if it works with the Google Pixel 3a.
- Google profits from all these steps in one or in the other way.
- But we where completely happy with the Android phone we had, before Google started to modifiy it for it s own needs.
- We are trying to find solutions, which are attractive for costumers, and not only for big companies like Google, and promote those as much as we can.
- Don t invest to much time in Google phones. Maybe Google is already working on a solution how to make it difficult to unlock the bootloader, so that it is difficult to flash a new OS on it, how it is with Xiaomi phones aleady.
