Was Richard Davidsons paper „Long-term meditators self-induce high-amplitude gamma synchrony during mental practice“ which was published in 2004 rejected by Nature & Science?

Matthieu Ricard said in the following video, that they hoped that the scientific studies he made with Richard Davidson will be published in Nature

Matthieu Ricard participated in this scientific study as a guinea pig and co-author. But the paper was not published in Nature, but in PNAS.

There is a joke which says, PNAS means „Post Nature & Science“. Does PNAS publish papers which where rejected by Nature and Science? So should not also Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org reject this paper?

Since if really nobody has ever seen these kind of gamma wave signals before, as Richard Davidson claims, would we not have many follow up papers concerning this topic? 20 years after this PNAS paper has been published? Follow up papers which study this phenomenon in more detail? But we do not know of such follow up scientific studies.

Richard Davidson also said in an interview, that they first thought these extraordinary gamma waves where an artifact. And that they had to go through the entire test equipment to be sure that it was not. But do this statements of Richard Davidson not raise even more doubts about the “superhumans with the extraordinary brain waves of high-level meditators”, as a video on YouTube of Richard Davidsons Altered Traits Co-Author Daniel Goleman is entitled, which described these scientific studies with these extraordinary “super monks”? And if these super monks would really exist, should they not also be recognized as such in real life, and not only in a brain scanner?
