30 years ago, molecular biology in Switzerland was first glorified & then demonized around the most famous molecular biologist of Switzerland Charles Weissmann:
And one of the victims of this process was Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org who turned away from molecular biology 30 years ago, and became a neuroscientist:
But where does molecular biology stand stand 30 years later? Is in the year 2025 molecular biology something which is neither to glorify nor something to demonize? But is it only something which is not interesting at all?
Since Rob ter Horst who is a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Center for Molecular Medicine (CeMM)
https://www.linkedin.com/in/rob-ter-horst-90756a4a/?originalSubdomain=at
prefers to test smartwatches:
instead of working at the Research Center for Molecular Medicine (CeMM).
But after all, is what Rob ter Horst does as a scientific smartwatch tester not somehow „psychologically noticeable“? And has all this eventually something to do that one can currently make as a scientist also money out of selling smartwatches on YouTube? And Rob prefers to be a smartwatch seller instead of being a molecular biologist?
