This detail scene from the Papyrus of Hunefer (c. 1375 BC) shows Hunefer’s heart being weighed on the scale of Maat against the feather of truth, by the jackal-headed Anubis. The ibis-headed Thoth, scribe of the gods, records the result. If his heart is lighter than the feather, Hunefer is allowed to pass into the afterlife. If not, he is eaten by the waiting Ammit. Vignettes such as these were a common illustration in Egyptian books of the dead.

The believe in the afterlife was based on reports of people who went through a near-death experience. But this believe has survived many thousand years.
And even today, people such as the Swiss musician B Katzman made such experiences:
Two Minutes of Eternity – An Extraordinary Near Death Experience | Bo Katzman’s NDE
Neuroscientist Christof Koch who only believes in science also went through a near-death experience. He thinks that people who report about NDE s are all crazy
What is striking is that this believe in an afterlife has survived for many thousand years. And who believes for many thousand years in what crazy people say?. Are humans not capable to recognize who is crazy and who is not? Is really a scientist necessary for this? And what is also striking is that many of these NDE reporters are completely sure that what they report was for real. But most of them sell a book about their story. So are they all book-sellers who want to sell us their books?
Scientist Peter Gamma from Peter Gamma s view about this topic:
This has not been proofen or disproofen. This is difficult to proof or disproof, we don t know.
Unfortunately, the best scientific review Peter found about NDE he found on Wikipedia:

And aren t topics which have been given up by scientists published on Wikipedia?
