OpenBCI mobile getting awesome: brainHatMobile

Last Updated on January 12, 2025 by pg@petergamma.org

Here we can see a brainHatMobile demonstration in a field near Oregon where Osho taught his students

BrainHatMobile uses:

  • An OpenBCI Cyton
  • A Raspberry Pi zero (2w)
  • an OpenBCI Bluetooth dongle

The OpenBCI Bluetooth dongle is soldered to the Raspberry Pi. And the EEG signal transmission goes from:

  • your brain
  • to the OpenBCI Cyton
  • and from there to the OpenBCI Bluetooth dongle
  • and from there to the Raspberry Pi over a wired connection.

So this is not something revolutionary which would replace the OpenBCI WIFI shield. But the Raspberry Pi replaces the PC in this setup.
