Rob ter Horst – a scientist who tests smartwatch accuracy or a smartwatch seller who makes a big effort to sell smartwatches?

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org

Still misses reference devices at the highest level in Rob ter Horsts scientific tests:

For instance ECG treadmills such as the Schiller CS 200 ECG treadmill which are used by scientists for scientific studies about heart rate and respiration rate. A setup like this one is used for medical and research grade applications for runs on a treadmill up to about 15 km/h:

Treadmills such as the Schiller C200 with at least 3 channels ECG devices are the equipment with the highest accuracy for runs up to about 15 km/h on a treadmill according to a paper from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio:

According to the g.tec medical support, g.tec does not know of a manufacturer who has solved to problem of ECG motion artifact, they only can be reduced. We know of hardly any scientific studies at the highest level about heart rate where strong body movements are investigated.

The quantified scientist Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org from Switzerland who does not investigate strong body movements but meditation will not use smartwatches for his scientific studies, since he misses a scientific basis which would proof that smartwatches are accurate enough for his applications. Peter will use 3 channel ECG devices instead.

Rob ter Horst advertises with a paper from the Swiss Federal Institute of Sports in Magglingen that the Polar H10 is the device with the best heart rate, whereas ECG devices have issues with motion artifacts if strong body movements are investigated:

But do Rob ter Horsts scientific reviews and justifications not remind of product advertisements of Vedia Switzerland? With the cheak massager from Vedia Switzerland you can massage your cheaks. And Rob ter Horst scientifically tests smartwatch accuracy. But is a smartwatch really a device which is helpful for a scientist?

Rob ter Horst does not use reference devices at the highest level such the Schiller C200 for his tests. Which scientist does not use reference devices at the highest level possible, and also does not use reference devices at the level of his professional scientific qualification? Rob ter Horst bascially did not react on critisism of Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org about this topic. So is the Quantified Scientist Rob ter Horst more a a smartwatch seller who makes a big effort to sell smartwaches than a scientist who tests smartwatch accuracy in an objectively measurable and reproducable way?

Rob ter Horst, Raphael and Teresa is the testing group of Rob ter Horst to test heart rate accuracy of smartwatches on YouTube, these are three people. But this group is too small to be statistically relevant. And do Rob ter Horsts tests not remind also in this respect of Vedia Switzerland advertising? And are his tests not only of very limited use for scientific applications?

Are you the last one who watches Rob ter Hort’s scientific tests about smartwatch accuracy on YouTube? Turn off the light.
