Amost everything the Pinephone can do can also be built from Rasberry Pi components.

Devices built from Raspberry Pi components will eventually be a bit bigger.
But what is the alternative?
Peter Gamma can imagine to carry around a device which is based on the Raspberry Pi 4 as his daily driver.
It is currently available to a reasonable price.
And it has a big chance that we get it to work.
It has been evalutated for many years.
Leepspvidoe KDE plasma built 4 which is based on Raspberry Pi OS is almost as comfortable to use as Ubuntu 16.04.
And leepspvideo has tested the Raspberry Pi 4 in countless tests on his YouTube channel.
A big advantage of Rasperry Pi is the Rasbperry Pi OS which has been debugged since around 10 years:

This is big, big adavantage over the Pinephone which as many distros with many issues.
