“Bankruptcy stories” about the Librem 5 from Purism & products based the ADS1299 chip from Texas Instruments – do you still buy these products in the year 2024?

Last Updated on June 22, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

Are these not basically bankruptcy stories?: did the Pinephone kill the Librem 5? & has InfluxDB killed the ADS1299 chip? – two users report what they experienced wich these products.

Techlore I Regret Buying a Librem 5 – Here’s Why!

Rob Braxman reviewed on YouTube about the Librem 5 a view year ago

“Did the Pinephone sprint ahead of the Librem 5?”

  • Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org only new from Rob Braxman that there is or was a Librem 5 Linux phone.
  • Peter Gamma thought that the Librem 5 is an old Linux phone which is not worth buying anymore.
  • An he never watched a YouTube video about it.
  • So Linux phone enthousiast Peter Gamma does know nothing about the Librem 5.
  • Techlore was waiting 3 years on a Librem 5 phone.
  • Librem did not give any information about what is really wrong.
  • Librem was claiming to ship phones but they lacket FCC certification.
  • Evergreen phones never started shipping at all (as PiEEG.?)
  • In 2021 Purism almost shipped no phones.
  • Purism wrote you receive your phone in a view month, but that was just a lie.
  • Purism has a complete lack of transparancy.
  • Pine 64 was warning their users at their site what you are getting into with the Pinephone.
  • Purism had an outrageous priced phone based on 5 year old hardware.
  • a refund for Librem 5 was denied.

Techlore paid for an expensive device but never received one, and he can t anyone recomment to buy the Librem 5. Three years after he ordered the 600 USD phone he could not get even his money back.

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org has written 186 posts about the the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments, and many more about OpenBCI and PiEEG, but what has come out of it? He did not use these products and doubts about he ever will use those. It feels as if he was to last one out, and switches of the light now.

Here’s Why!

After all he experienced EEG devices based on InfluxDB are more interesting than products which are based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments.

Here is why:

So the last one who is interested in products which are based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instrumentss turn off the light:

In Switzerland when Swissair went into Bankruptcy 20 years ago the media wrote about it:

And are these user reports which are given here about these companies not basically a bankruptcy of these companies against their costumers? Eventually they find some beginners who do not know anything about these devices, but do experienced people not avoid these products and these companies?

Swissair had to stay on the ground 20 years ago:

  • But what happened when Librem 5 and products based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments basically went into bankruptcy with how they treat their costumers?
  • Nothing?
  • Not statements from the sellers?
  • No clarification?
  • No transparancy?
  • No refund?
  • No information about further developments?

The Librem 5 Linux phone still can be ordered:

But Techlore who paid 600 USD for the Librem 5 did not receive the phone and did not even get his money back 3 years after he ordered the phone. Whould it not be time to contact a lawyer in the situation Techlore after 3 years?

And is InfluxDB also the killer of EEG products up to 50 000 USD as well?

https://petergamma.org/category/eeg-devices

This would explain many thing we did not unterstand about these products, starting from PiEEG for 350 USD up to the g.tec multi-purpose headset for 50 000 USD.

  • P:S. after watching once more the above video of Techlore
  • I am asking the question, if it is not about bankruptcy, but is it not bankruptcy to not deliver a phone after 3 years, and also not give a refund.
  • And similar stange things happened with products such a PiEEG.
  • These companies seem to be very low quality.
  • And after thinking about these companies and how they treat their costumers and how they communicate,
  • aren t these just companies who take adavantage of those who are not experts
  • and do they goal oriented actions against people who critizise their products to get rid of those?
