Rob ter Horst:
tested 100 smartwatches:
And he continues to test smartwatches:
Peter Gamma:
No, no, we are only joking, this picture shows Swiss comedian Emil Steinberger.
Peter Gamma (no picture available) currently uses only 3 smartwatches:
Garmin Venu 2 (2x)
For monitoring activities
- for monitoring stair climbing
- for monitoring walking meditation on a treadmill with the protocol indoor walking.
- (some time ago, the protocol indoor walking counted steps, but unfortunatley this feature is not available anymore, There are eventually protocols which are better for this purpose. But Peter Gamma prefers the Android app a training tracker paired to sports sensors over smartwatches anyway, and uses a training tracker also, but currently only paired to the TreadTracker treadmill speed sensor.)
- Peter Gamma does not monitor breath meditation with smartwatches since these protocols are very inaccurate.
- for activity tracking
- one for charging
- one for monitoring
Garmin Forerunners 230 (2x)
programmed to vibrate every minute to count the numbers of breath per minutes manually
- one for charging
- one for monitoring
Garmin Fenix 6 (2x)
to monitor respiration rate which is accurate at 12 breath per minute on the Fenix 6
- He writes a daily protocol of his activities, and presses the «next round» button on the Fenix 6. This gives a daily protocol of the activities with the precise time he has spent with it. And he always can see how many activities he did each day.
- one for charging
- one for monitoring
But Peter Gamma will replace or add open source research and medical grade devices to his smartwatches as soon as possible.
