We are looking for an affordable EEG soft- and hardware for scientific studies – what to do?

Some of the best advisors for Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org where EEGLAB developer Arnaud Delorme with the Muse and NeuroFeedbackLab:

who uses Matlab. And Fieldtrip developer Robert Oostenveld. Oostenveld listed the issues of OpenBCI Cyton:

And Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org listed how to resolve all of these issues. Robert Oostenveld uses as far as we know Matlab. FieldTrip is the MATLAB software toolbox for MEG, EEG and iEEG analysis. Alternatively Robert Oostenveld suggested to use OpenBCI Ganglion or Unicorn Black by g.tec. With the Muse, by resolving the issues of OpenBCI Cyton, OpenBCI Ganglion or Unicorn Black and Matlab we should be able to implement most of the project we suggested under www.petergamma.org.

Python

With Python, we do not know yet where the community is for the EEG hardware we mentioned here. The only one we know to this date is sentdex with OpenBCI:

But sentdex is a YouTube video maker. And we do not trust in YouTube video makers anymore. And in the MNE Python forum, we only found 16 topics about OpenBCI:
