Which is the most interesting scientific paper for meditation researchers which was published over the last 20 years?

Last Updated on March 2, 2024 by pg@petergamma.org

It is the paper:

Long-term meditators self-induce high-amplitude gamma synchrony during mental practice

  • Antoine Lutz, Lawrence L. Greischar, Nancy B. Rawlings, +1 , and Richard J. DavidsonAuthors
  • November 8, 2004

101 (46) 16369-16373

https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.0407401101

which was published in Proceedings of the national Academy of Sciences (PNAS) in 2024. There is a joke among scientists that PNAS means «Post Nature And Science». Which means, the paper was sent to Nature and Science, where it was rejected. And then it was published in PNAS.

  • Richard Davidson once said to a YouTube video maker, this paper which was published in the year 2024 has been confirmed by another group in another paper, where Matthieu Ricard participated.

Peter Gamma from www.petergamma.org will not use search engines by Google Inc. anymore if possible, and will do his searches with the latest scientific search engines which are offered by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich Hönggerberg Campus (Science City).

These are available for free at the Information Center Chemistry | Biology | Pharmacy in the Information Center at the ETH Zürich Hönggerberg:

And we will look for papers about meditation research there and nowhere else.
