Is also OpenBCI made in China part of a marketing trust and risky?

Marketing trusts are forbidden in Switzerland:

Marketing trusts harm competition, harm the market for EEG devices and make those less interesting for users and harm users.

  • If OpenBCI made in China is part of a marketing trust also, developments devices which are built onto OpenBCI board made in China are risky.
  • As the example of PiEEG has shown, EEG products which are based on the ADS1299 EEG chip from Texas Instruments come and go.
  • PiEEG comes onto to the market and disappears again.
  • And how can we know if the same happens to OpenBCI made in China, if a developer develops a device which is based on OpenBCI made in China if this company is part of a marketing trust?
  • Devices of a marketing trust can shoot up their price from one day to the other, or can even dissappear from one day to another, as the example of PiEEG has shown.
  • We already have experienced that OpenBCI made in China was first available on Aliexpress. And then later on it it disappeared completely. How can we trust in such a company who fabricates those EEG modules?

For these reasons to build devices onto OpenBCI made in China is risky for developers. And should developers not look for an alternative which is based on single electronic components and InfluxDB as soon as possible?
