Is Rob ter Horst, PhD. the founder of OpenBCI made in China?

Rob ter Horst has only a single channel Polar H10 ECG as his reference device for the scientific studies he makes to test the accuracy of his smartwatches:

  • Rob ter Horst is against 3 channel ECG devices such as the Schiller Medilog AR12 Plus Holter Recorder according the above video.
  • The specifications of the 3 channel ECG device from the Schiller Medilog AR12 Plus Holter Recorder can be seen in the following table:
  • And other multi-channel ECG devices are shown there for comparison.
  • Rob ter Horst is against 3 channel ECG devices.
  • We are against the Polar H10 chest strap and smartwatches for our application.

And we have written about it on www.petergamma.org about this topic:

We have written this review about one year ago. Has Rob ter Horst studied our white paper, and could we convince him? And has Rob now founded OpenBCI made in China, which offers 3 channel ECG devices for the same price as his smartwatches:

OpenBCI made in China has aleady been tested on animals:

But www.petergamma.org is against tests on animals if possible, as Zen Priest Vanja Palmers:

Vanja Palmers was born in Vienna, Austria, and grew up in Switzerland. He practiced Zen for over 30 years with 10 years of traditional training as a Zen monk, and is the co-founder of a retreat center in Puregg, Austria and Felsonter, Switzerland. He is also a lifelong animal rights activist, and a member of the Swiss Medical Association for Psycholytic Therapy.

But still the OpenBCI made in China developers have proofen with their tests on animals that their device is suitable for scientific studies, and we highly appreciate this. We hope now that BITalino developer Hugo Plácido da Silva:

https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=86F6EBgAAAAJ&hl=de

picks up OpenBCI from China also in his PLUX store:

Are the multi-channel OpenBCI modules from China which start at 230 USD each with 8 channels with 24 bit A/D converters not much superior to his BITalino single channel ECG devices with which have only 12 bit A/D:

Therefore we hope now that Hugo Plácido da Silva develops a new 3 channel ECG device based on OpenBCI made in China. And we hope also that da Silva then tests the accuracy of smartwatches with this new device together with Rob ter Horst, PhD. And then they hopefully also publish their results on YouTube. We from www.petergamma.org are looking forward to see the results.

But would the result not be the conclusion that really serious scientists would stop using smartwatches for their scientific studies, and use 3 channel ECG devices instead, as we explained here:

And then they use ECG devices based on OpenBCI made in China instead of the Polar H10 chest strap. And they use HeartPy, the Python Heart Rate Analysis Toolkit for their data analysis. And would this not be a major break-through for Rob ter Horst, OpenBCI made in China, and Hugo Plácido da Silva? A break-through for new research topics for these scientists, and aslo a break-through for the device we have presented on www.petergamma.org?
