According to the views on YouTube the winner is DC Rainmaker, but not for us personally. The MRIS was triggered by the Dalai Lama 14 th, and we share his dream. We then became interested in optical heart rate monitors to study the effect of meditation on heart rate. These where promoted mainly by DC Rainmaker who made those more popular. Rob ter Horst started to publish rankings of heart rate accuracies. And also he became very popular by testing smartwatches after DC Rainmaker. But there is no direct correlation between popularity and quality.

We highly appreciate the two papers from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio which tested optical heart rate monitors. For us personally these two papers where the most helpful for us personally, since they where at the level of a clinical study and seemed to be locial for us personally. They used equipement of the highest level and not only Polar H10 chest straps as a reference. And we would like to thank the Clevleand Clinic for these great papers. And we published a review about optical heart rate monitor papers:

And we came to the conclusion to retreat from consumer grade heart rate monitors until someone proofs convincingly that they are helpful for clinical and research applications, what no one has proofen to this date to our knowedge. And for us personally the winners are not the popular reviewers DC Rainmaker and Rob ter Horst, but the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and the Dalai Lama the 14 th, because of their committement to find out the truth and make it available for everyone.

And is this not something which is superior to statements of DR Rainmaker that science sucks? Scientists are looking for the truth. But what are Rob ter Horst and DC Rainmaker looking for? What is a scientist like Rob ter Horst looking for if he does not use the most accurate devices for his tests, and these are 3 channel ECG devices for activities where intense activities with strong body movements are not investigated. And what are people looking for who are not looking for the truth and keep silent about these topics and say things like science sucks? Are they looking for many views on YouTube and high sales rates?
