In this video wan can see that Rob also uses fMRI:
fMRI is the devices are used also for mediation research by the group of Richard Davidson. This studies where triggered by a PNAS by Richard Davidson initiated by the Dalai Lama the 14:

Here some results from the brain of Mingour Rhinpoche:
Richard Davidson used fMRI brain scanners for his mediation research project published in the book “Altered Traits”:
Rob ter Horst says in one of his videos he spends 11 hours a week for scientific tests to measure all kinds of parameters about himself. Is this a secret research project of Rob ter Horst in association with Laghsam Zurich, Roche Pharma Basel and Richard Davidson to study the effect of meditation?
Richard Davidson found out that only 20 min of daily meditation practice has an effect on body and brain which can be objectively measured. But if we compare the numbers we found from olympic champion meditators, a daily practice of 20 min is in the league of hobby meditators.
For the world champions, our hypothesis is that it requires 13 years of full-time training and then additionally a training of 4 hours a day. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche meditated for 13 years in solitary retreat until he wanted to spend there the rest of his life. And he became one of the most important teachers of the Dalai Lama the 14. th, Niklaus von Flue lived the last 20 years of his life in solitary retreat and is said to have prevented a civil war in Switzerland. The Dalai Lama the 14 th., Yogi Bhajan, and Thích Nhất Hạnh started early in their lives intense Yoga and meditation practices. This was a key practice of their education. And all of these became world-renowned masters of Yoga and meditation. All of these teach to practice at least 4 hours a day.
And isn’t it a pitty that scientists like Rob ter Horst and medical doctors as Coady Rall do not participate in the champions league for a long-term meditation research project which could be a Nobel prize topic to solve a problem of humanity and that is the problem of mental health? And is this not a project which sould be financed by public funds and be controlled by marketing agencies who want to make money out of the Oura Ring and the Muse S?
