When will we have a Linux phone which is based on Raspberry Pi which fullfills the expectations the Pinephone raised but did not fullfill for our application?

We have given up the Pinephone for our application which is to use it as a mobile data aquisition system until someone can convince us of the opposite that it is suitable for it. Installation of desktop applications is difficult as we have learned in the example of LibreOffice:

LibreOffice on the Pinephone would be great but only if developers are interested to adapt it to the Pinephone. But we do not know of such.

We have previously let go the Pinephone and studied single board computers where we made negative experiences as well. An exeption was Raspberry Pi exept for the latest models where availablity is not garanteed during the next Corona Crisis.

We suppose that Corona break out are not very frequent and it is worth looking at Raspberry Pi products again, if we do not need a product urgently and depend on it so that we cannot do without it.

LibreOffice is easy to install on Raspberry Pi’s. And there are a lot of Pi screens. But unfortunately these screens are not optimized for mobile application. This is another issue we reported about.

This could be solved by using an Android phone as a Raspberry Pi screen. There are solutions availbable with HDMI to usb adapter. But much more handy would be a usb-c to usb-c connection with ethernet and remote desktop applications. But we do not know of any developments in that field for the Raspberry Pi and Android phones. It has been developed for iPads and Pi’s but iPads do not fit our needs.
