Rainer Blind with a PhD. of the University of Stuttgart:

named his Android app a training tracker an app for the really serious athlete:

https://github.com/rainerblind/aTrainingTracker

A training tracker stores sensor data in .csv format which allows a really serious data analysis. But which treadmill should really serious athletes buy?

A GE Marquette CASE Stress Test Systems is Sale Price: $13,249.00 ?

https://www.cardiologyshop.com/ge-marquette-stress-systems.html

A stress system from Schiller with treadmill «Schiller CS-200 Touch Stress System with Treadmill» with similar functionality is $22,995.00 ?

The treadmills alone cost 10 000 USD in the Dr. Toys store each ?

Woodway has treadmills which have been used for scientific studies, for instance the Woodway curved:

As far as we know these are mainly written by sports physiologists. A WOODWAY Curve LTG is €5.200,30 in the online store ?

If we look at the following video we can see that woodway treadmills are very well build, a heavy case with excellent mechanics:

But there are also treadmills on the market with similar specifications which look similar, have a similar well built frame as well as an excellent mechanics too and these treadmill costs less than 2 000 USD at Walmart:

Our hypothesis is that these treadmills where tested by their developers with a PC data analysis software and then built in a way so that they are of a high quality. Why else do they cost so much? Other treadmills cost less and they where tested trough «treadmill testing fun» for instance by DC Rainmaker:

Title of this video: DC Rainmaker: TreadTracker Treadmill Sensor // Treadmill Accuracy Testing Fun!

But do they not have the same a high quality and can therefore only be used for people who use these devices for fun and in their spare time who cannot do something serious with those? But still our hypothesis is that a treadmill starting from 2 000 USD is enough for someone who does want to do their own data analysis with those. A 2 000 USD might not be suitable for a hospital or fitness center where a lot of people use it daily. But for all other application is a treadmill necessary which costs more?

Issues with low-cost curved treadmills

Unfortunately the treadmill listed here for 2 000 undergoes stock market speculations at certain sellers, and it costs there already 2 500, this is an issue which should be mentioned. If we would choose this device and add further components would the price for it not increase further since it increases it s value? We therefore suggest to only to choose and mention devices with stable prices. A used curved treadmill can be bought on Ricardo Switzerland for around 2 000 USD as well. And new curved treadmills of a similar quality can be imported from UK to Switzerland, and shipping costs from UK to Switzerland is around 400 USD for the device, and not 2000 USD as for certain devices from US.
